Entering the virtual art gallery of up and coming artist Jerron LaReece Johnston is intriguing and mesmerizing. His talent exhibits the skill of a seasoned artist. The detail and precision of each piece illustrates far more than one’s imagination, but the genius of a gifted artist.
As a young man he began sketching comic book images, which soon transcended into landscapes and portraits; realism at it's best. Johnston has been commissioned for a number of portraits in the private sector; none more rewarding than the oil painting of his grandmother. The transformation of the worn photograph into the grandmother displays a visual testament of the artistic gift enjoyed by people everywhere.
Johnston says, "The humbling thing for me is, regardless of the images I capture with paint, or the individuals portrayed on canvas, is knowing that they are all the work of a much greater artist." (‘..We are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand…’ Isaiah 64:8).
